Negotiator
Inquiring researchers communicate via the Negotiator with several biobanks effectively at the same time. Biobank managers can also use the negotiation tool to provide information on the availability of samples and data confidentially. The Negotiator also offers them a clear overview of all requests received and simple tracking. Every biobank whose collections are listed in the Sample Locator or Directory should have an account in Negotiator. Registration takes place via the German Research Network (DFN).
Registration/Login
1.) Before you create an account in Negotiator, first familiarise yourself with the tool: https://negotiator.bbmri-eric.eu/login.xhtml. Select the "Information for biobankers" button here.
2.) To register your collection, please follow this link: https://signup.aai.lifescience-ri.eu/fed/registrar/?vo=bbmri&group=addNewCollections
3.) There are two options here, depending on whether your institution is listed in the German Research Network (DFN):
- Select your institution via the input field and click on the name to authenticate yourself with your institution account as usual (submit & accept).
Or:
- If you do not have a DFN account, select the green "LifeScience Hostel" button to create a Hostel IdP account and register. After clicking on the link "Dont have account? Sign up here!" (right below the green login button), enter your name, email, password selection and institution & "submit".
- If you have created a LifeScienceHostel account, you will receive a registration e-mail (please check your spam folder if necessary), which you can use to finally log in.
- After successful registration at the hostel and validation of your e-mail, go again to https://perun.bbmri-eric.eu/fed/registrar/?vo=bbmri&group=addNewCollections and log in.
4.) Select "BBMRI-ERIC Directory" or "Sample Locator" from the drop-down menu accordingly and register with the list of collection IDs you represent (you can find these in the directory by displaying the collections of your biobank - if this does not work, please contact the GBN IT Coordinator, Zohaib Hassan zohaib.hassan@). charite.de
5.) You receive administrator rights for the groups that represent your collections and can later add other people who also work for your collection/biobank/network.
6.) As soon as your registration is confirmed, you're ready to go! You can now log in to the Negotiator automatically by clicking on Login: negotiator.bbmri-eric.eu/login.xhtml

Answers to frequently asked questions
How do I register my biobank in Negotiator?
Biobanks cannot be linked to the Negotiator. This is only possible for the individual collections. To do this, you must register your collection ID (s.c: bbmri-eric:ID:DE_KDEB:collection:STUDIE-XY) for the Negotiator under this link: perun.bbmri-eric.eu/fed/registrar/.
What are collections?
Under the "Collections" tab https://directory.bbmri.de/menu/main/dataexplorer?entity=eu_bbmri_eric_collections&hideselect=true describe the collections in your biobank in more detail. Each biobank must specify at least one collection.
Where can I find the Collection ID?
The ID you are looking for has the following format: bbmri-eric:ID:DE_KDEB:collection:STUDIE-XY and is in the Directory on the Collection tab within your biobank.
