Networked IT infrastructure for multicentre sample collections.

GBN’s IT network links biobanks and facilitates the search for human biosamples and associated data across multiple locations.

The IT infrastructure of the German Biobank Alliance (GBA) was set up by an interdisciplinary team of developers. It is based on previous work of the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) and the Common Service IT of BBMRI-ERIC.

BBMRI-ERIC hat am 15. Oktober in Brüssel eine Roadmap mit dem Titel „Biobanking for a healthier world“ vorgestellt, die auf dem One-Health-Ansatz beruht.

Around 200 experts gathered in Berlin from 23 to 24 September 2024 to discuss the importance of networked infrastructures.

On the occasion of the GBN anniversary, a jubilee session will be held: "From networked biobanking to internationalisation – 10 years of GBN".
