In its anniversary year 2024, the German Biobank Node (GBN) is publishing a video series in which representatives of biobanks and other supporters and partners have their say, congratulate, look back on activities and successes and formulate wishes for the future.
A look at the GBN's extensive training programme
In the third video "Know-how for biobankers", PD Dr. Sara Nußbeck and Dr. Romy Kirsten present GBN's extensive training programme. Romy Kirsten explains its background: "Biobanking is not something you learn at university or MTA school." And Sara Nußbeck, spokesperson for the GBN board, emphasises the relevance of the programme: "It's important because biobanking is a rapidly developing field and it's good to be up to date."
Key figures of success
Since its launch, 77 webinars and workshops have been offered, as well as nine on-site training sessions for technical assistants. 190 users have taken advantage of eLearning on OpenILIAS and 262 certificates have been issued for participation in the edX course "Biobanking – Basics for Theory and Practice".
